Here and Now, There and Then: Prince Mohammad Bin Fahd University Drives Innovation and Invention, Locally and Globally

Supporting Innovations & Invention - Locally & Globally

Accelerating innovation locally & Globally

Creative Minds...Transform the World

Prince Mohammad Bind Fahd University

PMU is embracing how local and global collaborative engagement can synergistically reinforce each other to improve lives in the here-and-now

Although we have achieved great things at PMU, our work upon the local and global stages is far from finished, We will continue to move forward with enthusiasm and determination.”

— Dr. Issa Alansari (President)

AL-KHOBAR, EASTERN PROVINCE, SAUDI ARABIA, August 10, 2022 /EINPresswire.com/ — Starting several years ago with Vision 2030, the Kingdom of Saudi Arabia set forth a bold agenda of economic and social transformation to open up the nation to the world. Prince Mohammad Bin Fahd University (PMU), a prestigious institute of higher learning in Saudi Arabia, is continuing to do its part in progressing Vision 2030 and the agenda’s themes of an Ambitious Nation, a Thriving Economy, and a Vibrant Society. In accordance with these far-reaching themes, PMU is also helping advance the goals of partnership, prosperity, peace, and understanding worldwide.

Among PMU’s many relevant activities has been the funding of special projects for university researchers and the securing of patents for new inventions. Through the Prince Turki bin Muhammad bin Fahd Center for Creativity and Entrepreneurship (PTCCE) at PMU, the university is supporting the projects and research of both male and female students. In particular, PMU is ensuring funding allocations for women researchers and students as they make key contributions to Vision 2030 in the area of sustainability via the development of clean, renewable energy sources and applications.

In these endeavors, PMU has also partnered with the National Academy of Inventors (NAI). A United States-based non-profit organization, NAI plays a pivotal role in recognizing and promulgating inventions made by its members for the benefit of global society.

Furthermore, to proactively envision and move toward achieving an equitably prosperous future, the Prince Mohammad Bin Fahd Center for Futuristic Studies (PMFCFS) and the World Futures Studies Federation (WFSF) have announced a continuation of their futures research grant through this year. PMU has accordingly put out a new, third call for research proposals on “Thinking about alternative futures…”, a widely ranging scholarly project aligning with Vision 2030 by exploring sustainability, wellbeing, and adaptability to unpredicted events.

Overall, through these efforts and more, PMU is managing to maintain a broad focus encompassing both home and abroad. The university is embracing how local positive change and global collaborative engagement can synergistically reinforce each other to improve lives in the here-and-now, as well as the there-and-then.

“All of us at PMU are very proud of what we are accomplishing in supporting research, innovation, and engagement within our community in the Kingdom of Saudi Arabia and across the full community of nations worldwide,” said Dr. Issa Al Ansari, President of PMU. “We truly believe that tremendous opportunity exists for global citizens to cooperatively forge a future where prosperity is shared and accessible to all.”

Powering Innovation

A prime example of diligent individual effort cumulatively benefiting the world’s population—and the health of the planet itself—is the electric vehicle. While fossil fuels have powered humanity’s technological rise since the Industrial Revolution began more than two centuries ago, while also historically serving as a key source of wealth for Saudi Arabia, these fuels do not represent the future of energy generation by our global species.

PMU members are thus working on developing electric vehicles that can run on renewable sources of energy. In this vein, ten female students from PMU’s College of Engineering and the Department of Mechanical Engineering recently succeeded in designing and manufacturing an environmentally friendly electric car. The three-wheeled, joystick-controlled vehicle utilizes a solar-power charging station and performed admirably in test runs. The vehicle represents the culmination of an important hands-on, skills-building exercise that will empower PMU students to continue innovating and developing the modes of transportation humankind will progressively adopt in the coming decades. The distinguished graduation project was honored at a ceremony held by the university administration and attended by Dr. Al Ansari.

“At PMU, we encourage women to pursue careers in STEM—science, technology, engineering, and mathematics—and have made it a point to ensure funding allocation for both men and women,” said Dr. Al Ansari. “The electric vehicle demonstration is evidence of how a balanced approach broadens innovation—innovation which will be critical in meeting the challenges of the 21st century.”

Protecting Inventions

The PTCCE is a catalyst for electric vehicle and other Vision 2030-aligned research and development. Beyond supporting and enriching the ideas of young people, the Center for Creativity and Entrepreneurship assists in turning these ideas into economically viable and attractive projects and applications at both the local and the global level.

Also playing a critical role is the Patent Center, established under the Deanship of Research at PMU. The Patent Center supports the protection of creative scholarly activities, innovation, and discoveries involving faculty, staff, students, and others participating in PMU programs, with a major element of this support being the assistance with securing patents through coordination with NAI.

Five patents were recently awarded by the United States Patent and Trademark Office (USPTO) to inventions by PMU community members. The patents represent a range of disciplines, from health and medicine to electrical and mechanical engineering and materials science. One of the patented inventions uses artificial intelligence (AI) for early diagnosis of Parkinson’s disease, a neurodegenerative condition, as well as cardiovascular diseases by searching for telltale physiological, voice, and handwritten patterns displayed by patients. A second invention has applications in the power transmission industry and involves the fabrication of copper wire with enhanced electrical conductivity plus the desirable properties of high strength and ductility. The third invention is a novel kind of separator that can more effectively dehumidify air, with applications in the HVAC, aerospace, and natural gas industries. The fourth invention is a highly practical and versatile bento-style lunch box. The fifth invention describes the preparation of a polyolefin-carbon nanomaterial composite that offers excellent thermal and electrical conductivity along with flexibility, toughness, and degradation resistance.

“Through our dedicated Centers and partnerships, we are finding extraordinary success in promoting and protecting innovation and invention at PMU,” said Al Ansari.

Reflecting the quality education that PMU offers to its students as well as its sustained support for academic staff, the university was recently rated highly in the QS World University Rankings, an annual publication of university rankings by Quacquarelli Symonds, a United Kingdom-based higher education analysis company. Overall, PMU was ranked in the top 651 to 700 universities around the world in the QS University World Rankings 2023, published in June. The university has also been recognized as one of the world’s top universities for performance in the subjects of mechanical engineering (401-450) and computer science (601-650) by the QS World University Rankings by Subject 2022.

The growing number of accolades for PMU’s members, as well as the university’s growing global reputation, collectively speak to the fruition of the themes of progress and prosperity in Saudi Arabia’s Vision 2030.

“Although we have achieved great things at PMU, our work upon the local and global stages is far from finished,” said Dr. Al Ansari. “We will continue to move forward with enthusiasm and determination.”

SIDELINED FROM 1966 MOTORCYCLE ACCIDENT EX-BEATLE GEORGE HARRISON PERSUADES SINGER BOB DYLAN TO STAR AT HISTORIC CONCERT FOR BANGLA DESH HALF A CENTURY AGO

ATLANTA, GEORGIA, UNITED STATES, July 31, 2022 /EINPresswire.com/ — Fifty one years ago Bob Dylan made his first live appearance anywhere in two years. The event took place during ex-Beatle George Harrison’s Concert for Bangladesh for charity at NYC’s Madison Square Garden on August 1, 1971 between two simultaneous shows.

Historian Richard Warren Lipack is releasing an image of Bob Dylan moments before Dylan’s amazing comeback to the concert stage in 1971. The image was recently discovered while examining old original 35mm color transparency outtakes the photographer took during the concert 51 years ago.

Beside this, historian Lipack made a half hour long videotape with sound of the afternoon NYC concert show, for which a frame (of three deposited on Wikimedia Commons) from that video can be found on the Wikipedia and Wikiwand entries for the Concert. Despite this, the Estate of George Harrison, and son Dhani Harrison have made no effort to reach out to learn more about this historic videotape: the only videotape of the Concert in existence. Dhani Harrison, the manager for Beatle George Harrison’s estate, was born in 1978, exactly seven years later to the day of his father’s 1971 concert’s August 1st time stamp. Some questions are raised as to the son’s veracity in the honoring of his father’s legacy based on Harrison’s seemingly cosmic Bangla Desh Concert dated birth as opposed to Beatle John Lennon’s son Sean Lennon’s caesarian section birth by Yoko Ono on John Lennon’s October 9th birthday in 1975.

This 1971 concert event also marked the return of George Harrison to the stage in a live concert after the Beatles last paid public performance at San Francisco’s Candlestick Park on August 29, 1966 and following the Beatles’ 1970 Break-up.

Aside from these works author and historian Lipack owns and controls the copyrights to almost 500 behind-the-scenes negatives and images of the 1966 Beatles last concert tour, including the last live Beatles paid public performance ever – occurring at Candlestick Park described above. The photograph archive trove also includes images of the Original Yellow Submarine that inspired the 1968 release of the Beatles movie The Yellow Submarine two years later.

Most of the 1966 images were taken by the long defunct Datebook magazine, whose staff travelled on tour with the Beatles in 1965 and 1966, and which was the magazine that lit the bonfire against Beatle John Lennon’s Beatles being “more popular than Jesus” statement of 1966.

Author Lipack was associated closely with Beatles manager Brian Epstein’s mother Queenie and brother Clive Epstein in the late 1970’s and early 1980’s, and decided to release this important never before seen Dylan image for the historical record, as well as for fans of Bob Dylan and George Harrison, and for Bob Dylan himself.

The accompanying photo shows the great Dylan just before he mounted the performance stage at the Concert for Bangla Desh on August 1, 1971. This photo marks a ‘first of its kind’ in the fifty-one years since the concert was mounted.

Convincing Dylan of the significance of performing at the Concert for Bangla Desh, George Harrison persuaded Dylan to come out of semi-retirement to play classics that he hadn’t performed in years.

A few years before the 1971 Concert for Bangladesh, Dylan was knocked out of commission for a half a decade following a 1966 motorcycle accident in that placed him into semi-retirement. And his legend grew. George Harrison was in the same boat of sorts following The Beatles’ demise as a live act when they mounted the stage for their final live paid concert performance at the August 29, 1966 Candlestick Park show, which author Lipack published in his 1996 book: “Epoch Moments and Secrets – John Lennon and the Beatles at the Mirror of Man’s Destiny.”

Dylan’s August 1, 1971 first-show afternoon comeback performance should have been flawed but instead he appeared magically on stage during the first show that day – during the afternoon show – just after this moment shown here – going on and gallantly charging forward with his music prowess as great as ever before 40,000 concert attendees in this and the later evening show.

Dylan was backed by just Harrison, piano man Leon Russell – who took up to playing Klaus Voormann’s Fender Precision bass, and by former Beatles drummer Ringo Starr pacing steadfast on the tambourine. Dylan played five of his decade-defining songs from the 1960s. Dylan would take “A Hard Rain’s A-Gonna Fall”, “Blowin’ in the Wind”, “It Takes a Lot to Laugh, It Takes a Train to Cry”, “Love Minus Zero/No Limit” and “Just Like a Woman” to their highest levels ever.

George Harrison’s “Concert For Bangladesh” became the most aggressive turning point in popular culture at the time, marking the first ever mounted star-studded charity event that would become both the model as well as setting a precedent for future charitable sponsoring concert events.

With the former Beatles guitarist’s original noble initiative employed to summon Bob Dylan out of seclusion and back into the limelight, the action allowed for Dylan to effectively round out and downright steal the show.

The photograph just discovered in the archives of historian Richard Warren Lipack after 51 years is presented here for the first time ever to commemorate the active work singer Bob Dylan has generated within the realms of music and art even to this day, fifty one years after his historic August 1, 1971 comeback appearance. Shown as the sixth person from the left Dylan stands wearing his jean jacket patiently waiting in the wings clutching his guitar with his back to the camera.

This is all as ex-Beatle George Harrison in the red dress shirt discusses last minute sound details with a technician just a few feet back away from Dylan, just before Dylan’s seeming magical appearance. The fifth person from the left in the image recognizes Dylan and stares down at the great singer in apparent astonishment and amazement captured here.

Garage Door Replacement in Phoenix

Leading Phoenix-based garage door repair company, Arizona Garage Door Guru, has announced its much-anticipated price beating policy.

I am a proud business owner who took up the daunting task of learning how to create my own website and web footprint in city #5 of our great large nation. When you hire my company you hire solutions!”

— James – AKA The Guru

PHOENIX, ARIZONA, USA, July 11, 2022 /EINPresswire.com/ — Leading Arizona Garage Door Guru, Announces Its Price Beating Policy

Phoenix-based garage door repair company, Arizona Garage Door Guru, has announced its much-anticipated price beating policy. The new price beating policy now makes it possible for people to get affordable garage door repair in Phoenix.

Phoenix, AZ – Arizona Garage Door Guru, announced its priced beating policy earlier this week, stating “that the company will beat the lower price offered by any other service, provided they offer the same level of service.” What this means is that now anyone who is in the market for affordable garage door repair in Phoenix knows that Arizona Garage Door Guru will offer them the best deal. Not only that, but homeowners will be able to save money if they find a lower-priced service which, according to the company’s representatives, is “not possible.”

Arizona Garage Door Guru is one of Arizona’s most reputed and established garage door repair services. The company has been offering garage door repairs in Phoenix, AZ, for over a decade; during this time, they have established themselves as the go-to service for any homeowner wanting to get their garage door repaired reliably without breaking the bank. The company also offers emergency garage door repair and installation services.

While garage doors are built to last, the most common failure point is the torsion springs, since they are under the most pressure. Though high-quality garage doors with multiple springs will last longer, once the springs wear out, they have to be replaced.

It is essential to keep in mind that the cost of repairing an average garage door has increased by more than 35% in the past five years alone. That’s partly due to the rising prices of after-market parts, but also the price of gas and inflation. While some people assume that it’s possible to find a garage door repair company that can repair their garage doors for the same price as they did three or four years ago, it is near impossible. Those that do offer cheaper services often do so by cutting corners, often using low-quality aftermarket parts, and by hiring technicians who don’t have as much experience.

It is refreshing to see that an established company like Arizona Garage Door Guru is willing to go the extra mile when offering affordable garage door repair in Phoenix. Readers can learn more about the company’s price beating policy by visiting https://phxgaragedoor.guru.

For anyone who wants to get garage door repairs in Phoenix, it is strongly advised to get a few quotes. The quotes help find the best company, offering the best possible price. However, Arizona Garage Door Guru’s price beating policy means that the company will beat the lowest price offered, provided that the competing company is offering the same level of service. Unlike other services, Arizona Garage Door Guru has said that the company does not cut corners to lower pricing.

“A garage door is the most important part of your home. Not only does it ensure that your vehicle is safe inside, but it also ensures that your home is safe. Many people may not know this, but many intruders will start by looking for a way into a home via the garage.

Garage doors that aren’t professionally repaired often have weak spots that intruders can exploit. Once an intruder enters the garage, they can enter a home and walk out with your valuables. That’s why it is important to ensure that your garage is in good condition and well maintained all year round.” Said a technician working for Arizona Garage Door Guru.

He added, “At Arizona Garage Door Guru, our goal is to provide homeowners with the best return on their investment. This means offering an excellent garage door service that ensures the highest value for money.

Our new price beating policy proves we have the most generously priced garage door repair service because we believe in helping people.”

According to many industry experts finding affordable garage door repair in Phoenix has become increasingly harder. Fortunately, Arizona Garage Door Guru is one of the few trusted services that are still comparatively affordable.

The company provides a broad spectrum of garage door services which range from repair to installation and removal. The company can also schedule an annual garage door inspection to ensure it continues to perform flawlessly.
